Filling scales are used in semi-automatic and fully automatic filling processes within filling plants. They are integrated in feeding systems with a feeding device and control unit. Most are subject to the Weights and Measures Act and therefore have to meet high accuracy requirements.
Within the filling process, weighing and filling are usually undertaken at great speed. The material has to be weighed during the process itself, at which point there is always some product in the air between the feeding device and container base. Feeding is ceased even though the product has not been weighed in full. To obtain the precise results desired, special algorithms and procedures exist which enable rapid filling and attain a highly accurate result while satisfying the Weights and Measures Act.
