Schenck Process is a Top Employer for Engineers in 2013

Prestigious prize on its way to Darmstadt for the fifth time

A job at Schenck Process? Sounds great! The international company based in Darmstadt was recently named the number one choice of employer among engineers for the fifth time. The title of Top Employer is conferred every year by international research company, the CRF Institute.

The CRF Institute awards this honour to companies that are particularly attractive to engineers, who represent much sought-after group of employees. The companies are evaluated in terms of advancement opportunities, primary benefits, secondary benefits and work-life balance as well as training and development, corporate culture/management, and innovation management. Schenck Process particularly impressed the judges with its primary benefits, innovation management, training and development options, plus its corporate culture/management.

Only companies that meet the demanding standards set by the reviewers receive the coveted accolade of Top Employer after undergoing an extensive auditing process, which entails a number of questionnaires. The audits are carried out in close cooperation with auditing company Grant Thornton. This year, a total of 30 companies can congratulate themselves on receiving a Best Employer certificate.

Pia Heintz-Kästner, Vice-President of Human Resources at Schenck Process, elaborates: “We are delighted that we have won the award again: it makes us very proud to be considered a Top Employer for engineers for no less than the fifth time. We have always placed great importance on the fact that our employees enjoy being at Schenck Process. As an SME with a high international profile, we want our staff to have an attractive array of benefits, and we also offer them more, such as the opportunity to get involved in engrossing technical issues around the world.”

“The CRF Institute would like to congratulate Schenck Process on its success in the review. The companies certified as Top Employers for engineers in 2013 have all demonstrated that they’re more than just innovation leaders in their sectors: all of these companies are committed to their staff and offer above-average benefits to their employees, putting them at the top of the international league when it comes to personnel management. The certificate not only proves that they allowed independent examiners inspect their in-house HR activities, but it also serves as an excellent means of comparing their policies with other outstanding firms. This information puts them in a marvellous position when competing for top people on a national and international level,” says Dennis Utter, Country Manager for Top Employer in Germany and Switzerland.

2013’s Top Employers for engineers were drawn from a wide variety of business sectors, and they also varied considerably in size, ranging from SMEs to major groups.
