Overview

The Mucon® AD Iris Diaphragm Valve is the most popular of Mucon’s hand operated valve range. It is a double diaphragm iris valve and is perfect for in-line applications with no leakage to the atmosphere.

Construction

  • All valve body parts are made from aluminum
  • The control ring (handle) is for all sizes up to and including 200mm diameter are manufactured from gunmetal
  • Valve sizes greater than 200mm diameter are produced in aluminum and zinc
  • 316 stainless steel screws and nylon triggers are used to resist corrosion
  • Sizes 380mm and 450mm come with hand wheel operation as standard

Application

  • Outlet valve for silos, bins, hoppers and chutes
  • This valve can be used for in-line applications
  • Discharge from sifters, double cone blender, as well as ribbon mixers outlets
  • Used for manual bagging of material where frequent operation is involved
  • Can be used to control discharge from containers into weigh hoppers
  • Also for closing the ‘necks’ of big bags where a valve smaller than the Series JS12 is needed

Options

  • All valve parts can be produced in 316 stainless steel (except for the AD3)
  • Flurene or other coatings available for valves in corrosive environments
  • Stainless steel clamp rings
  • To enhance flow control mufti-notching of the valve is available
  • Hand wheel operation available for valve sizes 150mm to 300mm
