LOGiQ® BackupManager

    The LOGiQ® BackupManager is a module from LOGiQ®, our perfectly coordinated logistics software solution for the bulk materials and cargo industry. Like all modules in the system, LOGiQ® BackupManager was developed and is being continuously optimised by Schenck Process.

    The LOGiQ® BackupManager is responsible for backing up data each day. With just a few settings, the online backup, i.e. data backup, can be automated during ongoing operation. This means that a copy of the database is created several times a day. This copy can also be saved on magnetic tape or on other security media by archive programs.

    The frequency of these data backups can be adapted to meet individual needs. The process can be performed several times during the day or at night depending on requirements and as a result takes place automatically. For reasons of security, we recommend undertaking checks on a regular basis to eliminate any errors during automatic backup.

    The program automatically creates a snapshot of the database with all open log files. This snapshot is also an auto-recovery point as is used by all common computer programs. A backup which can be used to recover this scanned database status in full.

    It is also possible to optimise the database, which makes it easier to access data if larger quantities of data have been modified, after expanding or modifying new master data or movement data, for example.
