QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
What are the main advantages of CONiQ® Control?
- Intuitive User interface enables a smooth operation and reduces operator failures
- Web-based User interface for easy access without a specific software or app
- Modular Structure: Buy only the required features
- Easy System Integration via one of the common field bus connectivities
When will it be released?
CONiQ® Control 4.3” Compact with first static weighing applications is already released. Within the next years more applictions from static and continuous weighing will follow.
How much is the controller?
Please contact us to receive an individual quotation. We are looking forward to receiving your enquiry.
Can the controller be used for legal-for-trade applications?
Yes, CONiQ® Control is approved as a non-automatic weighing instrument for legal-for-trade scales (class III) with up to 6000 digits. The approval is valid in Europe and the US according to EN 45505, OIML R51 and NTEP.
How many load cells will be supported?
It depends on the impedance of the load cells. The resistance has to be >35 Ohm. Means you can connect up to 9x 350 Ohm load cells like our PWS or up to 120x 4450 Ohm load cells like our RTN series.
How many load cell channels are supported? E.g. if I need to connect a second weighbridge.
Currently CONiQ® Control supports only one load cell channel.
Required power supply?
100 ... 240 VAC (-15%, +10%) or 24 VDC (-7%, +12%)
What is the operating temperature range?
-30 ... 50 °C
What protection class does the controller achieve?
In case of panel mounting the front reaches IP65. The plastic enclosure has IP54 protection and the stainless-steel housing also reaches IP65.
Is there also a version for DIN rail (TS35) available?
Later there will be an edition without display that can be mounted either in a field housing in the field close to the scale or on DIN rail inside the contol cubicle (similar to DISOCONT® Tersus). Additionally there will be suitable displays as operator panels.
Does the screen have a clean/wipe function?
Is the controller suitable for ATEX applications?
Yes, but the controller needs to be installed in safe (non-hazardous) area. An edition for mounting in ATEX area 3D (Zone 22) is planned.
Can you connect CONiQ® Control to an 8 channel Disobox, to observe each channel on the web browser?
No, CONiQ® Control is not designed to be a second display or operator panel for other controller types. There will be a multi-channel version of CONiQ® Control (Successor DISOBOX® Plus) later - also with remote display.
Which field bus-connectivities are supported?
We support at present:
For more details we refer to the datasheet.
When will OPC-UA be available?
OPC-UA is currently in the development team.
Do you need WIFI to connect?
No. You can also connect via cable but a wireless connection via WIFI-module is often more comfortable.
Can the user do any kind of programming using something like Block Diagrams?
The internal PLC according to IEC-61131-3 together with the programming bundle VBU6000, enables to implement complex projects and user-specific visualizations on the controller.
Will it be a Schenck Process closed WIFI or will you use the customer WIFI to connect to your WIFI module?
CONiQ® Control creates an own WIFI-network for end-to-end connection. You do not need access to the customer's network.
How many I/O modules can be installed? How many digital and analogue inputs and outputs are available?
CONiQ® Control has 4 slots for I/O-modules and one for field bus connectivity. One I/O-slot is required for the load cell channel card. Besides the fieldbus slot remain 3 slots for I/O's. The total amount of I/O's depends on the configuration. You can have up to 9 AO and 6 AI or 18 DI and 12 DOs - but not at the same time.
Are the I/O's individually configurable?
The logical functions which is available as an in- or output depend on the activated weighing application. The physical assignment of the available signals to the existing I/O's can be configured individually.
Is it foreseen to have a sim card module in the future?
If you have such a requirement please contact us and we will evaluate what is possible.
How many concurrent web-connections at the same time are supported?
Theoretically unlimited - there will certainly be limitations due to performance but we have not seen them so far.
Is it possible to get a bigger size of the letters in the screen?
Not yet. Responsive design for bigger screens is planned.
Does it support Arabic Layout keyboard?
Not at present. We support e.g. kyrillic and other European layouts, chinese is planned - arabic at present not.
When do parameter settings become effective?
As soon as you enter the parameter in the system.
What happens if you fail during the weighing process? For example if you click first weighing instead of second weighing.
As long as the weight is not registered, you can move back in the weighing sequence.
Which software is required to configure a controller?
You do not need a specific software to configure CONiQ® Control. You just need one of the common browsers on the device which is connected with the controller. Please note that we do not support Internet Explorer.
To create user-specific applications and custom visualizations via internal PLC, the Windows-based programming bundle VBU6000 is needed.
Can we configure the controller via smart phone?
Yes. We recommend to use a smart phone or tablet with operating system Android or iOS
Will there be a PC software for operating the scale?
Are DISOVIEW and DISOSAVE compatible?
CONiQ® Control is browser-based and don’t need any software or app, but can also be used in combination with DISOVIEW X und DISOSAVE X. So a PC-Software does already exist.
Which weighing and feeding applications are supported? Which controllers can be replaced by CONiQ® Control?
At the moment CONiQ® Control can be used for hopper scales (filling level measurement), crane scales, truck scales and cargo scales. In the first Step CONiQ® Control replaces DISOMAT® Opus. Loss-in-weight feeder, belt scales, weighfeeders and further applications will follow within the next years to replace the DISOMAT, DISOBOX, INTECONT and DISOCONT families step by step.
Are batching features already available?
Expected to be available in summer 2021.
Is there a backup and restore function for the setup of the controller?
Is there a backup function for registered weights?
Does the controller prepare a log file for error messages?
Can reports and statistics about weighing transactions be generated?
Does the controller can produce any MIS report (e.g. Daily report)?
