Biomass and Waste Fuel Feeding and Handling
Environmentally friendly products need to be used in modern day energy production. The solution is to use alternative fuels for incinerators and boilers such as wood pellets and chips, household waste and process by-products.
The problem is that these products require different feed solutions and also pose extremely difficult challenges with regards to the design of the conveying systems used.
Schenck Process provide systems that deal with this in the safest manner by using variable concepts and offering a range of conveying methods to deal with the differing feedstock characteristics.
Alternative fuels are either discharged directly from trailers with “walking floors” or are delivered in tipping containers via road or rail. Schenck Process automated extraction screws, chain conveyor or pneumatic conveyors can be used to deliver the appropriate amount of fuel via a weighing check system for boiler feed regulation.
Schenck Process pneumatic mill feed systems provide the ability to have remote storage of potential hazardous materials and totally dust light delivery systems coupled with the advantages of gravimetric fuel feed.
This entire process can be controlled from the remote station without additional personnel using the LOGiQ automated loading system. External drivers from the logistics partner deliver the fuels with full product control and allocation to the storage location.
DISOCONT® is the Schenck Process measuring and control technology for continuous automatic operation for all feed stocks.
