System Solutions for Catalyst Producers
For many years, Schenck Process has provided systems and project support to many of the major catalyst producers through our pneumatic conveying, dust collection, weighing and feeding product offerings.

Whether you are in petroleum refining, polymer production, renewables, or a specialty chemical area, Schenck Process is positioned to provide a complete system solution. From rates of pounds per hour to tons per hour, our wide range of product offerings include dilute or dense phase pneumatic conveying equipment, loss in weight feeders, calciners and dust collectors that are customized to meet specific process requirements.

Pneumatic conveying technologies
Pneumatic conveying has fewer moving parts and greater flexibility for plants with changing needs. Enclosed pipelines virtually eliminate degradation of the product into smaller particles that can present a dust hazard. Pneumatic conveying also integrates filtration while delivering materials to their destination.

Dilute phase pneumatic conveying systems operate on the principle that the solids will be suspended in the conveying line air stream. This is accomplished by metering product into a moving air stream.

Benefits of dilute phase pneumatic conveying:

Dense phase pneumatic conveying systems operate at smaller air volumes and higher air pressures. Materials are pulsed through the convey lines and are ideal systems for handling easily damaged or porous products.

  • Reduces plant footprint
  • Low horsepower requirement

Dust collection
It is important that catalyst processing facilities employ dust collection systems that are uniquely designed according to plant specifications and also have the benefits of:

  • Limiting emissions
  • Being specifically designed for ease of maintenance
  • Accounting for critical moisture concerns in the environment
  • Including cleanout or inspection opening in ductwork

Feeding
The MechaTron® feeder features the unique ability to disassemble, clean, reconfigure or service from the non-process side. Offered in three model sizes with either a Coni-Flex™ flexible hopper or in all stainless steel, the MechaTron®’s versatility makes it ideal for catalyst processing applications.

Calcining
For high temperature processing of granular products and powders, the Bartlett-Snow™ Rotary Calciners are the perfect solution. Benefits include:

Rotary Cylinders
Replacement cylinders are fabricated of materials ranging from carbon steel to high performance alloys. Cylinders can be manufactured with a variety of internal flights and other design features, which are custom engineered to meet the specific mechanical and process requirements of the application.

Feeding

Weighing
MULTIDOS® DEA stainless steel weighbelt feeders provide weight controlled feeding, weight indication and totalization for a wide variety of free flowing materials. Models are available in 12” and 24” belt widths with easy belt detensioning and removal, BIC (belt weight influence compensation), accuracies of ± 0.25% to 1% of set rate sigma, and feed rate capabilities up to 1,680 cubic feet per hour.
