Big isn’t always better. From Schenck Process there is an ideal solution for feeding very small amounts of powder, and it’s called MechaTron® Min. This gravimetric feeder has a feed rate between 100 g/h and 10 kg/h. Typical applications include laboratory and test facilities for feeding extruders, mixers, mills and granulators.

The MechaTron® Min features a twin screw and vertical agitator. It is designed to allow quick dismantling for cleaning and replacement of the discharge devices.

Two different feed hoppers are available to suit different products and feed rates. The 4 l hopper with negative conical hopper has an agitator that works near the base and is suitable for manual filling at low feed rates. The 8 l hopper is conical and also has an agitator that works near the walls and a cover with refill and venting nozzle for larger feed rates at automatic refilling.

Both versions come with integrated measurement, control and regulation electronics of the high quality that Schenck Process customers have come to expect. The drive and weighing technology is contained in a dust-protected housing. An extra protective housing can be fitted over the entire system to minimise environmental disturbances. This is particularly recommended for small feed rates.

Also of note: The MechaTron® Min will soon be expanding its application range. Schenck Process has adapted the miniature loss-in-weight feeder to meet the needs of laboratories and in the future will present the MechaTron® Min Ex, a solution for feeding very small amounts in areas subject to explosive hazards.

The MechaTron® Min can be seen in person at the Schenck Process stand in Hall 11, Booth E 77 at the K trade fair in Düsseldorf from 16 to 23 October.
