Hochschule Darmstadt visits Schenck Process

Theory and practice come together

As part of a programme designed to promote an exchange of ideas and in order to gain insight into practical applications, professors from the University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Darmstadt, h_da) visited Schenck Process on 22 March 2011. Around 20 mechanical engineering, plastics technology and mechatronics engineering professors joined President Prof. Ralph Stengler and dean Prof. Bernhard May on the day. The visit included a tour through final assembly, the TestCenter, the direct weighing system and vibratory equipment. The day was a good opportunity to present the company and various development projects, such as the crane scales project, and of course plenty of opportunity to talk shop. Not only did the visit allow the visitors and staff to share many experiences, they also discussed a future collaboration between the university and Schenck Process which Dr. Weyrauch described as very promising.
