Schenck Process has been voted one of Germany's Top Employers for Engineers for the third time. As in previous years, this accolade is the result of a study conducted by the CRF Institute, an international research body. Schenck Process was one of 37 companies to collect the prestigious award as an exceptionally attractive employer for engineers.
Good brains are the key to success for any company. But what do companies do to attract, retain and motivate talented people? This was the question that CRF sought to answer once again, evaluating approximately 200 employers in terms of innovation management, career opportunities, pay, work-life balance, career development and corporate culture important factors that matter to employees.
As a world market leader in measuring and process technology, Schenck Process develops innovative solutions and technologies. We employ approximately 2600 people around the world, more than 1000 of whom are engineers. Here are 5 good reasons why our company was awarded the "Top Employer for Engineers 2011" certificate:
Global player With 32 locations and 130 agencies worldwide, Schenck Process gives its employees the opportunity to deploy their know-how around the globe. In addition, the course is set for further international growth. Already well represented in Europe, Asia and North and South America, the company is also considering the possibility of expansion in Scandinavia and the Middle East.
Open corporate structure The company provides and promotes opportunities for personal career development. Employees are actively encouraged to expand their skills profiles and even switch from technical to management roles. Issues such as leadership, collaboration and motivation are discussed at regular meetings as part of the proactive collaboration initiative "Members of staff Ideas Taking action" or m.i.t. for short.
Future prospects Vocational training, dual study or the new graduate trainee programme for 2011: Schenck Process offers young people the perfect springboard for their careers. To us, continually training our staff is an investment in the future, because good brains are our most important asset.
Work-life balance We do everything we can to keep our employees happy. We also promote motivation by offering a pleasant and stimulating working environment where outstanding achievement is rewarded. We operate a flexible working hours model to foster the necessary balance between work and private life. This model gives parents the chance to spend more time with young children, for example.
Flexible working hours model Employees have time accounts to which overtime is credited and can then be exchanged for time off. There are no core working hours, which means that staff are relatively free to determine their working hours with their team.
